LAHORE:Khalid Hussain Khokhar, Chairman Pakistan Kisan Ittehad, has warned that farmers would not sow wheat next year if they continue to face huge losses.

Speaking here Wednesday, Khokhar declared a significant decrease in wheat cultivation for the upcoming year, highlighting the distress faced by wheat farmers in the country. He expressed a willingness to engage in dialogue, but noted that the high ups in Punjab province are unresponsive. PKI leader raised concerns about the future of crop cultivation for farmers, questioning whether they should resort to burning their wheat. He emphasised that the wheat crisis is a national issue, prioritizing food security over border security.

Khokhar pointed out the dire health conditions of farmers' families and their struggles with depression, asserting that farmers are merely seeking fair compensation for their labour. He underscored the vital role farmers play in supporting the nation and questioned the notion of patriotism in relation to land ownership.
