In a successful joint operation on Wednesday, the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) and the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) recovered a kidnapped university student and arrested two suspects involved in the abduction.

According to an AVCC spokesperson, 21-year-old Ghayur Abbas, son of Mureed Abbas, was abducted at gunpoint on April 20, 2025, after leaving home for Iqra University. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Baloch Colony police station. The kidnappers later demanded a ransom of Rs9 million for his release.

A case was registered under sections 365-A/34 of the Pakistan Penal Code at the Baloch Colony police station and subsequently transferred to AVCC/CIA for investigation. Under the supervision of the AVCC SSP, a special team — comprising DSP Operations, SHO AVCC, and members of the CPLC — was formed to lead the investigation. Using technical intelligence, the team conducted a joint raid in Qayyumabad, successfully recovering the victim and arresting two suspects.

The suspects were identified as Muneer Solangi, son of Allah Waryo, and Aftab Solangi, son of Ghulam Nabi. Authorities are currently verifying their criminal records. Following the rescue, the victim and his family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the AVCC SSP, his team and the CPLC for their swift and effective response. After completing initial legal formalities, Abbas was safely reunited with his family.
