Thr District Central police on Wednesday apprehended a group involved in street crimes, including a man who used his own daughter as an accomplice in an armed motorcycle-snatching incident.
According to the police, the group had adopted a method of involving women in their crimes to evade suspicion and arrest. On April 14, in New Karachi’s Sector 11-L, the suspects held a citizen, identified as Nauman, at gunpoint outside his home and fled with his motorcycle. The case was registered at the New Karachi police station.
The suspects were identified and traced with the help of CCTV footage, which clearly captured their faces during the robbery. Those arrested include Bilal, son of Siraj, and his daughter, Shumaila — both visible in the footage and confirmed as participants in the crime. A third suspect, Faheem, remained at large. He was the brother-in-law of Bilal and maternal uncle of Shumaila. District Central SSP Zeeshan Siddiqui said the suspects made disclosures during interrogation, which might lead to further arrests.
