This letter refers to the news report ‘US complicit in Israel’s ‘genocide, starvation’ in Gaza: UN expert’ (April 26, 2025). The UN special rapporteur on the right to food is of course right. After all, it is the US’ generously supply of billions of dollars’ worth of ammunition and weapons to Israel that is enabling the latter to continue its genocide. Its current president has even gone so far as to suggest that the US and Israel could seize and split up the land of the displaced Palestinians between them.
Far from trying to stop this genocide, US President Donald Trump has not even expressed any concern over it. However, equally to blame are the many Muslimcountries, most of whom are standing by and doing nothing or even continuing to work with the US as though it is all ‘business as usual’
