PESHAWAR: A joint book-launching ceremony of noted Pashto poet, researcher and critic Farhad Mohammad Ghalib Tarin and Dr Faqir Mohammad Faqir was held in Kheshgi village Nowshera on Sunday.
Pashto literary persons participated in the event and presented their views and research papers on the newly published books.
Farhad Ghalib Tarin poetry book ‘Jazbaat’ and Dr Faqir Mohammad Faqir research book “Qasim Ali Khan Afridi Deewan’ were formally launched at the function organized by Kheshgi Adabi Tolana.
Prof Dr Abdullah Jan Abid of Allama Iqbal Open University was chief guest on the occasion while Prof Dr Hanif Khalil and noted Pashto writer and columnist Gul Mohammad Betab were guests of honour.
Prof Dr Mohib Wazir of Bacha Khan University Charsadda and Syedul Amin Ahsan, Director Excise and Taxation Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa presented their papers on lives of the authors and their books.
Prominent literary persons Mian Latif Shah Shahid, Dr Shahab Aziz Arman, Wisal Mohammad Khalil, Sadiq Amanzai, Gohar Ali Gigyani, Pir Khalid Khan, Zahid Shah Zahid, Rahim Khan, Ibrar Kheshgi and Inamullah Majroh spoke about the personalities of Farhad Ghalib and Dr Faqir Mohammad and their newly published books.
Pashto poet Wali Khan Khaksar, Syedul Ibrar Majboor, Ajmal Dilsoz, Taza Gul Armani, Gul Nawaz and Shahid Ali Shahid presented their poetry.
The participants highlighted different aspects of the books and termed it a great contribution to the Pashto literature.
Dr Faqir in his research-based book ‘Qasim Ali Khan Afridi Deewan’ highlighted the hidden works and poetry of Qasim Ali Khan Afridi who had reflected the political, social, literary and culture activities and challenges during the British-era.
Farhad Ghalib book ‘Jazbaat’ is combination of verses written between 1970 and 1977 that also exposed the literary services, different genres of Pashto literature, political, social and cultural values and aspects of that period.
