ISLAMABAD: The court of special judge central, Shahrukh Arjumand, Monday directed the Adiala jail superintendent to conduct a medical examination of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan afresh through a team of specialist doctors from PIMS hospital Islamabad.

In a written order, the court while hearing Toshakhana-2 case against the PTI founder and his wife Bushra Bibi, said that three private doctors of the PTI founder should also be included in the medical team so that proper treatment of the accused could be ensured.

The case was heard at Judicial Complex Islamabad instead of Adiala Jail. Chaudhry Zaheer Abbas, Usman Riaz Gul, Naeem Haider Panjutha and others appeared in the court on behalf of the PTI founder.

The medical examination report of the PTI founder was presented in the court by the jail authorities, which was declared as unsatisfactory by the court. The report from Adiala jail superintendent, dated January 10, 2025, showed that Dr Muhammad Asim Yousaf, Dr Faisal Sultan and dentist Samina Niazi had conducted a medical examination of the PTI founder. However, that report contradicted the current report of the Adiala Jail superintendent. Later, the court adjourned the hearing of Toshakhana-2 case without any proceedings until May 14.
