Student dies after falling off first floor of campus

LAHORE:A 21-year-old student at a private college on Jail Road sustained critical injuries after falling off the first floor and later died in the hospital.

According to police and college sources, the student, identified as ‘M’, was enrolled in the BS Computer Science programme. She reportedly fell off the first floor in library area of the campus. She was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but despite medical efforts, she died. Initial police findings suggest the fall may have been caused by dizziness.

‘Drunk’ cop barred from entering stadium, arrested

A policeman was arrested and booked after he allegedly attempted to forcefully enter Gaddafi Stadium under the influence of alcohol during a PSL match. According to police sources, the incident occurred at Gate No 6 of the stadium, where the suspect, identified as Constable Shahbaz from Chuhng Police Station, tried to gain unauthorised access.

Security officials noticed his behaviour and questioned him. Upon inquiry, it was determined that the constable was intoxicated. Police handed him over to Gulberg Police. A case was registered against him for disorderly conduct and attempting to breach stadium security while intoxicated.

Man arrested for killing his wife

Nawab Town Police arrested a man within 24 hours of allegedly murdering his wife, a TikTok content creator, following a domestic dispute.

According to police officials, the accused, Saad, strangled his wife to death during a heated argument at their residence. Ayat was known for her presence on TikTok, where she had gained a sizable following. A case was registered against the accused.

12 die on road in 24 hours

The ESD responded to 1,325 road accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. In these accidents, 12 people died, whereas 1,555 were injured. Out of these, 648 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 907 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.
