ISLAMABAD: The Accountability Court-II Tuesday delivered verdicts in three important rental power references and discharged several accused.
Judge Muhammad Ali while delivering the verdict ordered the discharge of 11 accused including Raja Pervez Ashraf from Karke Ship reference. In this reference, the NAB estimated the corruption to the tune of Rs22 billion. The company also filed a claim of Rs200 billion in damages against Pakistan. Later, it waived off the damages due to government intervention. The court ordered the discharge of six accused, including the former chairman of Wapda from Rs96 billion Bakhi Power Project Sheikhupura reference. The court also ordered the discharge of the accused from the case in Sharqpur power reference.
