LAHORE: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held separate meetings with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, here on Tuesday.

The meetings focused on Pakistan-India tensions, border situation, and the Palestine issue. The interior minister apprised the JUI-F and JI leaders of Pakistan’s principled stance and decisions in response to India’s illogical and unilateral actions. He also informed them about the decisions taken by the National Security Committee.

Maulana Fazl and Hafiz Naeem endorsed the government’s principled stance and expressed their full support in light of India’s unjustified actions. Maulana Fazl said: “Indian Prime Minister Modi is an enemy of Muslims. Wherever there is a front against Islam and Muslims, Modi will be found standing there.”

Hafiz Naeem said: “The entire nation stands united on the issues related to India. The Indian government, which is responsible for the massacre of hundreds of thousands of innocent Kashmiris, must come to its senses.”

Interior Minister Naqvi said India was trying to play with fire and Pakistan will respond to any misadventure with full force. He added India was deliberately conspiring to destabilise regional peace. “Political leadership and the entire nation stand united against any Indian aggression, and Pakistan’s brave armed forces are fully prepared to defend the homeland,” he added.

Naqvi also enquired after Maulana Fazl’s health and expressed his best wishes for his well-being. Senior leader Liaquat Baloch was also present during the meeting with the JI leadership at Mansoora.
