Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Emir Monem Zafar said the Pakistani nation won the war against India in the battlefield, and hoped that the Pakistani political leadership would not lose the victory on the table during the peace dialogue with the neighbouring country.

Addressing JI workers during his visit to a camp set up in the city, and the inauguration of Shahrah-e-Dr Feroz, Zafar said that the entire nation demonstrated exemplary unity. He said the unity would ensure Pakistan’s future, adding that the resilient Pakistani nation always demonstrates unity in hard times.

He also said India needs to show its regret over its false flag operation and its accusations against Pakistan. The Indus Waters Treaty should also be implemented in letter and spirit, he added.

Talking about Karachi’s issues, Zafar said the JI’s local government representatives have been working under the vision of party chief Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman. They have been serving the residents in the city’s nine towns even beyond their mandate, he added.

He said that at least 40 public schools have been restored in the nine towns, besides the restoration of 140 parks. The JI will continue the struggle for the rights of the residents of the city under the Karachi Rights Movement, he added.

He also shed light on the services of Dr Feroz Shah, saying that he was still alive in the hearts of the area residents because of his services to the neighbourhood. After inaugurating the road named after Shah, fireworks were held to celebrate Pakistan’s victory against India.
