LAHORE: Body of an 11-year-old boy was found under mysterious circumstances in the Factory Area on Sunday.
The deceased, identified as Shahroz, was found dead in his house in Punjab Society. According to police, the boy was alone when the incident occurred. His father, Shahid Malik, reportedly discovered the body upon returning home.
Police stated that rope marks were visible on the child's neck, raising suspicions of either murder or alleged suicide. Body was taken into custody and shifted to the morgue.
Youth shot at, injured by robbers over resistance: A 22-year-old youth was shot at and injured by two robbers over resistance in the Batapur area on Sunday.
The victim, Yasar Khan, a resident of Rampura Batapur, was on a phone call outside his house when two armed men on a motorcycle held him at gunpoint.
The robbers snatched Rs5,000 in cash and opened fire when Yasar resisted, injuring him before fleeing the scene. According to the victim, the suspects were aged between 22 and 25. Yasar was taken to hospital where he was reported to be out of danger. Batapur police have registered a case based on a complaint filed by the victim’s uncle, Aftab Anwar Khan, and have launched a search for the suspects.
Body of woman found in drain: Body of an unidentified woman was recovered from an open drain near Gajjumata in the Nishtar Colony police area on Sunday.
According to police, the woman’s body was found floating in the drain. Police reached the scene, took the body into custody, and shifted it to the morgue.
