LAHORE: The Sports Board Punjab (SBP)is going to organise Chief Minister Punjab Summer Games in the next couple of weeks and in this regard, DG Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry has directed the sports officers to begin the preparations for the mega event.
While chairing a meeting at the National Hockey Stadium on Tuesday, DG Sports Punjab Khizar Afzaal said that the competitions of four games - kabaddi, hockey, volleyball and badminton - will be organized in Chief Minister Punjab Summer Games. “The open category kabaddi competitions will be organised from tehsil to division level”.
Revealing more details, Khizar Afzaal said that the competitions of hockey, volleyball and badminton will be conducted at inter-district and division level. “The male and female players of under-21 age group categories will participate in hockey and badminton competitions”.
He further said that the final dates of Chief Minister Punjab Summer Games will be announced soon. “The Chief Minister Punjab Summer Games will provide a suitable platform to all talented athletes of the province to demonstrate their hidden sports potential at a bigger stage,” DG Sports Punjab elaborated. The meeting was attended by Director Sports Rana Nadeem Anjum, Deputy Director Chand Parveen and other officials.
