LAHORE:The sixth meeting of the Cabinet Committee on infectious diseases, including dengue and disaster management was held in the health and population department under the chairmanship of Provincial Health Ministers Khawaja Salman Rafique and Khawaja Imran Nazir.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Health and Population Department Nadia Saqib, Secretary Auqaf Department Syed Tahir Raza Bukhari, DC Lahore Syed Musa Raza and officers of all other departments concerned. All commissioners, deputy commissioners, CEOs, Prof Wasim Akram and other medical experts participated through a video link.
During the meeting, the latest situation of dengue across the province and measures to control it were reviewed. The meeting paid tributes to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, COAS General Asim Munir and the Pakistani Armed Forces.
Provincial Health Ministers Khawaja Salman Rafique and Khawaja Imran Nazir said that during the Pak-India tension, all institutions have performed their duties with great courage. This crisis has united the entire nation.
Provincial health ministers said that the month of May has begun, so we need to be more careful and proactive regarding dengue. We salute the spirit of doctors, nurses, paramedical staff and pharmacists in the recent tension.
Khawaja Imran Nazir directed the commissioners and deputy commissioners to monitor the anti-dengue operations themselves. Both the ministers emphasised on ensuring coordinated contacts with the district administration. Special attention is being given to dengue-prone districts. HR-related issues, geo-tagging and dashboard issues in high-risk areas should be resolved immediately. Technical issues will be resolved in the technical group meeting, he concluded.
