A prayer of thanks was offered in Karachi by the Pakistan Army, the Pakistan Rangers Sindh and the Pakistan Coast Guards for the success of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos.
Karachi Corps Commander Lt-Gen Avais Dastgir offered the prayer with the officers and men of the Pakistan Army. The chiefs of the Sindh Rangers; the Malir, Hyderabad and Panno Aqil divisional headquarters; and the Pakistan Coast Guards also offered a prayer after the Pakistan Army’s victory.
They thanked Allah Almighty, who ensured that the Pakistan Army proved to be a wall of lead before the cunning enemy India, and granted them victory. After offering the prayer, the Corps commander visited the soldiers to pay them tributes.
Lt-Gen Dastgir said the Pakistan Army is proud of their brave soldiers, and they are the crown of the nation. On his arrival the combat-ready troops chanted slogans for Pakistan. He congratulated all the officers and soldiers on the victory of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, and appreciated their preparations and enthusiasm during the war. “We must be ready at all times.”
He also visited the soldier who was injured during Operation Bunyanum Marsoos. He paid tributes to the martyrs and Ghazis of the Pakistan Army, the Pakistan Navy and the Pakistan Air Force for standing against the enemy with high morale and bravery.
He said the Pakistan Army is keeping an eye on the enemy at all times, and in case of any misadventure, an immediate befitting reply should be given.
Army officer for a day
The Corps commander later met Usman Aqeel, the boy who wanted to join the Pakistan Army. He congratulated him on his desire to become an officer of the Pakistan Army for a day, and gave him gifts.
Usman is suffering from the deadly disease of calciphylaxis. He had requested to spend a day as an officer of the Pakistan Army. Lt-Gen Dastgir fulfilled his wish and invited him to the Karachi Corps Headquarters.
He appreciated the boy’s courage and paid him tributes. The boy was given the rank of captain by his mother, and he spent the whole day with the Pakistan Army. Usman also fired various weapons used by the Pakistan Army. He was also informed about the training and operation methods of the army. “Today my wish to join the Pakistan Army has been fulfilled,” Usman said on the occasion.
“I am grateful to the Karachi Corps commander for providing me this opportunity. The way the Pakistan Army defeated India in Operation Bunyanum Marsoos is unparalleled. Every child of Pakistan stands with their forces and is ready to confront the enemy at any moment.”
