LAHORE: Two robbery suspects in custody were killed during an alleged police encounter in the Hanjarwal area on Friday.
Officers from the Crime Control Department (CCD) were transporting the suspected robbers, Qasim and Tasleem, to a crime scene when, in the Hanjarwal locality, unidentified assailants opened fire on the police party in an apparent attempt to free the suspects. According to reports, the gunfire from the attackers resulted in the deaths of the detained accused.
