LAHORE : On the directives of Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr M Ali, the university administration conducted a clean-up operation in its hostels, enabling the accommodation of 678 morning programme students from other provinces and remote areas.
According to a PU spokesperson, these students were previously unable to access hostel facilities due to unauthorised occupants. The operation has allowed more students from Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, and Kashmir to secure accommodations. The updated hostel occupancy includes 281 students from Balochistan, 192 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 165 from Gilgit-Baltistan, 116 from Sindh, and 36 from Kashmir. The spokesperson added that strict monitoring of hostels will continue as per the Vice Chancellor’s instructions to ensure compliance and fairness.
