LAHORE : Tahir Ghalib, Member and Coordinator of PPP Central Punjab Council, has appealed to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to organise seminars to highlight the crucial role played by PPP leaders in Pakistan's victory over India.

Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, after taking power post-1971 war, realised India's intentions to weaken Pakistan and took bold steps to strengthen Pakistan's defence system. Despite global opposition, he initiated the atomic bomb project, gifting Pakistan nuclear capability.

Similarly, Benazir Bhutto, upon assuming power, worked tirelessly to acquire missile technology, defying international opposition. Her efforts made Pakistan invincible, contributing to the country's current victory. The council members, including Anjum Butt, Masood Malik, Dr Rafiq Khan, Zakir Hussain Bukhari, Abdul Rehman Advocate, and Naveed Hassan Advocate, endorsed Tahir Ghalib's statement. They urged the PPP leadership to highlight their role in the war victory before the opposition tries to take credit. Masood Malik emphasised that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto also deserves credit for forging strong ties with China, Pakistan's closest friend today.
