India’s aggressive foreign policy moves to defame and isolate Pakistan have backfired and hurt its regional leadership. The recent conflict with Pakistan has exposed the hollowness of its foreign policy because no country strongly supported India’s actions. Meanwhile, several countries supported Pakistan. The BJP regime’s abrogation of Article 370 and Hindu-majoritarian politics are alienating many countries and raising global concerns about religious freedom, democratic backsliding and suppression of dissent. Recent European Parliament and US Congress discussions about India are more critical than before. Hence, India needs to revise its foreign policy instead of defaming and pushing propaganda against Pakistan.
