LAHORE:The bureaucracy in the health department has become a laughing stock as only six incomplete applications have been received till May 13 for the outsourcing of 315 rural health centres of Punjab, PMA Lahore has claimed.

"To avoid embarrassment, the Health Department has extended the date for requests till May 28," say leaders of PMA Lahore during a meeting held under the chairmanship of President PMA Lahore, here on Thursday, which was attended by Dr. Ashraf Nizami, Dr. Iram Shahzadi, Dr. Wajid Ali, Dr. Bushra Haq, Dr. Izhar Chaudhry, Dr. Kamran Saeed, Dr. Tanveer Anwar, Dr. Javed Chaudhry, Dr. Nadir Khan, Dr. Ahmed Naeem Akhtar and Dr. Maryam Fatima.

The PMA believes the bureaucracy is putting the health sector on the path of destruction and take away the treatment facilities from the public and defame the government. They demanded the government end the proposed contract system in the health department.
