LAHORE: A speeding dumper truck carrying sand lost control and overturned onto a rickshaw near LDA Avenue in Chuhang, killing three people on the spot.
The accident occurred near a traffic signal when the overloaded dumper, reportedly driving at high speed, collided with a motorcycle before crushing the rickshaw beneath it.
Rescue teams and police rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the crash. Two victims died instantly, while a third succumbed to his injuries during treatment at the hospital.
The deceased were identified as 32-year-old Umair, 25-year-old Tayyab, and 30-year-old Waseem. Authorities seized the dumper and took the driver into custody, registering a case against him for reckless driving.
Preliminary investigations suggest the driver failed to maintain control of the vehicle, possibly due to speeding and overloading.
Few days back, five people had died after a dumper had ran over rickshaw on GT Road near Shalimar.
Two suffer burn injuries: A tragic incident occurred in Hasanain Park, Marghazar Colony, when a high-voltage electric wire snapped and fell onto a house, triggering a fire that left two young brothers severely burned.
The victims, identified as five-year-old Mohsin and 10-year-old Abu Bakar, sustained critical burn injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment, where they remain under medical care.
