karachi: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has issued notices to respondents on the bail plea of Salman Farooqi and Owais Hashmi who have been arrested in a case pertaining to threatening and beating up a youth.
A counsel for the petitioners, Naeem Qureshi, informed the high court that the man who was subjected to violence had forgiven the suspects and given a statement in this regard.
However, the high court observed that bail could not be easily granted in the case because of particular sections included in it.
The SHC issued notices to respondents and directed
the prosecutor general to submit a reply on the next
hearing.
In the FIR, an eyewitness stated that he was at Ittehad Commercial on May 31 when he witnessed a minor accident between a motorcycle and a Land Cruiser.
Farooqi, reportedly the Land Cruiser’s owner, allegedly ordered his armed guard and driver to forcefully detain the motorcyclist inside his vehicle, where he was assaulted and abused.
