Rawalpindi:Another dacoit involved in the martyrdom of Constable Syed Sajjad Hussain on Wednesday night was killed during a shootout with police in the Wah Saddar area late Thursday night.
According to the Rawalpindi Police spokesman, after the martyrdom of Constable Sajjad, police teams, including the Crime Control Department (CCD), were given a special task, to arrest the absconding suspects.
One dacoit was killed in Wednesday’s shootout. The teams blockaded roads in the area. One of the teams on Thursday night signalled two suspicious motorcycle riders to stop, but the later started firing on the police.
In the ensuing crossfire, one of the riders later identified as Qudratullah was killed while the other escaped. During the shooting, one fire hit Constable Mukhtiar Haider on the chest, who, however, remained safe due to the bulletproof jacket. The dead Qudratullah, an Afghan national, was wanted to police in dozens of robberies, including serious cases.
