This letter refers to the editorial ‘Hall of fame’ (June 12, 2025). Sana Mir, a trailblazing Pakistani cricketer, has become the first Pakistani woman to be inducted into the ICC's prestigious Hall of Fame. Her remarkable 20-year career saw her achieve numerous milestones, including becoming the highest wicket-taker in ODIs and second-highest in T20Is among Pakistani women.
What is truly inspiring about Mir's story is her perseverance in a society where women's participation in sports is often discouraged. Her achievement opens doors for young girls and showcases the potential of Pakistani women in sports. Her legacy will inspire future generations of women athletes.
