ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) held key ‘Digital Strategy’ meeting and vowed to counter disinformation with truth and discipline.

The central meeting of the PPP digital team was held in Islamabad on Saturday to review and strategize the party’s digital media campaigns, public outreach efforts, and online narrative building.

The session was attended by PPP Central Secretary Information Nadeem Afzal Chan, Sindh’s Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi, MNA Qasim Gillani, Senator Nadeem Bhutto, heads of the party’s digital divisions, and other senior leaders.

In addition, PPP digital activists from across the globe - including the UK, Canada, Germany, UAE, Saudi Arabia, the US, and other countries - joined the meeting via Zoom. Addressing the session, Sharjeel Memon emphasized that digital media has evolved into a powerful political tool. “In today’s politics, digital platforms are not just for expression but instruments of influence,” he said.

“Our priority is to inform youth with facts and counter negative propaganda with reason and truth.”

He lauded the digital team for playing a vital role in communicating the party’s message to the public. “While some elements are using social media to spread hate, lies, and baseless allegations, our response must be rooted in truth, ethics, and constructive dialogue,” Memon added.

Nadeem Afzal Chan stressed the need to align with changing global communication trends. “We must move beyond traditional rallies and press statements to develop a coherent, civil, and effective narrative on social media,” he said. “It is our collective responsibility to communicate the party’s policies, performance, and democratic sacrifices to the public.”

KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi highlighted the growing influence of digital media across the country, especially in sensitive regions like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “Unfortunately, some forces are misleading the youth through fake news and disinformation,” he said. “We must confront this challenge by promoting truth and a message of national unity.”

The meeting also discussed several proposals, including organizing training workshops and amplifying the party’s narrative both domestically and internationally through coordinated digital efforts.
