LAHORE:The Women Development Department and the Christian Study Centre (CSC) jointly organised an awareness session at the Women Development Office on the theme of Pro-Women Laws and the Punjab Domestic Workers Act 2019.
The session was attended by around 50 participants, including women workers, journalists, civil society organisations, and representatives of domestic workers' unions. The trainer from the Women Development Department, under the direction of Sadia Taimoor, Parliamentary Secretary WDD and Focal Person to the Chief Minister, briefed the participants. Participants appreciated the efforts of the Punjab govt and recommended the enforcement of domestic workers' laws, the registration of domestic workers, and an increase in the minimum age of child domestic workers from 15 years.
