ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib on Wednesday appealed to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to reconstitute the scrutiny committee so that the process of scrutiny of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) accounts could be completed, Radio Pakistan reported.
Talking to media persons here, he asked the electoral body to write a letter to the State Bank of Pakistan to get data of bank accounts of all the political parties registered with the commission.
“PML-N wants to flee in foreign funding case, as it is opposing scrutiny of its accounts,” he said, adding: “Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has been accounted for its donations and is ready for further scrutiny.”
Habib said the audit of the accounts of PPP and PML-N should also be completed at the earliest.
