Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested a man in Korangi while he was dumping a plastic drum carrying the body of his murdered wife.
Officials said the suspect was arrested in Allah Wala Town in the Korangi Industrial Area police limits during the early hours. They said the man was trying to escape when the police caught him.
Police said the man was seen throwing a blue drum, which the locals found suspicious, so they stopped him. Upon opening the drum, they found the body of a woman inside, added the officials.
The locals informed the police, who then arrested the man named Babu, son of Noor Ahmed, and took custody of the woman’s body. The suspect told the officials that he lived in Chanesar Goth and had killed his wife by suffocating her with a pillow.
Police said the man hid the body in the drum, which he then loaded onto a pickup truck and drove to Korangi to dispose of it. Officials said the body was three days old, adding that she was a mother of four. The body was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
