LAHORE: The ambassador of Russia to Pakistan, Albert Khorev, met Governor Muhammad Balighur Rehman on Wednesday at the Governor's House.
In the meeting ways to enhance mutual cooperation in various fields were discussed. Governor expressed deep sorrow and regret over the loss of over 140 precious lives in a recent terrorist attack in Russia. Governor Balighur Rehman said that friendly ties between the two countries are growing stronger with each passing day. He said that the two countries need to further strengthen trade and economic ties. The governor said that education partnership should be a priority area for both countries. He underscored the need to start joint ventures to highlight the cultural heritage between the two countries. He said that there is a great scope of investment in the fields of agriculture and agricultural research in Pakistan. He lauded the initiative of establishment of "Russian Language Centre" in Punjab University.
