Karachi residents living along or near University Road, are facing many difficulties due to the construction of the BRT Red Line, despite the promise the project holds. All the noise from the construction machines is disturbing our peace and tranquility. The accumulation of dirt and dust from the construction machines can also lead to a rise in health issues, particularly for individuals suffering from respiratory problems. Meanwhile, the traffic conditions are worsening day by day due to the construction. The roads are closed and everyone has to take different routes, which makes everything very slow and frustrating.
Businesses along University Road are losing customers because it is now very hard to get to them with all the construction going on. Residents have also been left uninformed about when the construction is really going to end, leaving them even more concerned and disconnected from the project’s development.
