It is quite disturbing that there are over 28 million out of school children in Pakistan. Our education system is not well-funded, with less than 2 per cent of GDP being spent on education. This results in a shortage of qualified teaching staff and rundown or inadequate school facilities. To make matters worse, the promotion, transfer, and training of teachers is not transparent.
