PESHAWAR: Terrorists attacked the Regi Model Town police station in the provincial capital with automatic weapons on Thursday night.
There was no casualty reported in the attack that was repulsed by the cops.
Senior Superintendent of Police Operations Kashif Zulfiqar said that the cops in the police station repulsed the attack.
Heavy contingents of police along with armoured personnel carriers rushed to the areas after reports of attack by the terrorists on the police station.
The exchange of fire continued for some time before the attackers escaped.
A search operation was underway in the area.
Police in the limits of the same police station have come under attack a couple of times in the past months.

Before the incident, police and Customs officials came under attack in Dera Ismail Khan district in the last few days, claiming many lives. A cop was also martyred in Battagram.
