The alarming rates of unemployment and the scarcity of opportunities for fresh graduates in Pakistan not only undermine the aspirations of our young people but also pose a significant threat to the overall socio-economic development of our country.
The mismatch between the skills acquired through education and the demands of the job market exacerbate this challenge, leading to underemployment and frustration among our youth. One of the primary reasons for this predicament is the lack of investment in sectors that could generate meaningful employment opportunities.
While traditional sectors such as agriculture and manufacturing continue to play a vital role in our economy, there is a pressing need to diversify and invest in emerging industries such as technology, renewable energy, and innovation-driven enterprises.
These sectors have the potential to absorb a significant portion of our young workforce and fuel economic growth in the long run. It is also necessary to tackle systemic problems in the economy, prioritize skill development, and foster entrepreneurship. As a nation, we cannot afford to overlook the plight of our young graduates.
