LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari said that according to the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, field hospitals have started functioning across Punjab.
According to the report issued on Saturday, more than 1,000 patients were checked in a single day in the field hospitals. As many as 85 patients benefited from testing facilities from a testing laboratory available in the field hospitals while 72 patients underwent x-ray and ultrasound tests.
Azma highlighted that field hospitals are providing continuous facilities to the people belonging to backward areas of Punjab.
Field hospitals have been fully functionalised in the far-flung areas of Bahawalpur, Jhang, Okara, Multan, Muzaffargarh, Faisalabad and Sargodha.
CM Maryam’s first and foremost priority is to ensure a 'Healthy Punjab', concluded Azma Bokhari.
Int’l Firefighters Day: Provincial Minister of Health and Emergency Services Punjab Khawaja Salman Rafique said that hundred percent implementation of Punjab Community Safety Buildings Regulations 2022 will be ensured. Today is the day to pay tribute to firefighters all over the world. He said this while addressing the participants of the main ceremony of International Firefighters Day at the Rescue Headquarters on Saturday.
Secretary Emergency Services Punjab Dr Rizwan Naseer and a large number of firefighters were present on this occasion. The minister distributed certificates of appreciation among the best firefighters of 2023 on this occasion.
While addressing the ceremony, the minister said that the 23 firefighters who laid down their lives in the line of duty are great heroes of the Pakistani nation. Firefighters of Punjab have saved the losses of more than 650 billion rupees by risking their lives. He said that providing rescue services to the public is no less than worship. The rescuers of Punjab have made the name of Pakistan bright all over the world. The ‘sifarshi’ culture in the Department of Health and Emergency Services will be highly discouraged, he added.
Punjab Emergency Services Department Secretary Dr Rizwan Naseer while addressing the ceremony said that we salute the fire fighters who lay down their lives for the sake of the people. Before constructing any building, safety measures must be taken care of. Firefighters are respected all over the world. All the firefighters sitting here today are always ready to perform their duties even in difficult situations.
