This letter refers to the news report ‘Punjab cabinet approves Nawaz Kisan Card’ (May 1, 2024). While it would be all right for the Punjab chief minister to bestow an honour on her father in her personal capacity or by using family resources, I definitely feel doing so at state expense amounts to taking matters a bit too far.
Especially when the person being aggrandized is not known to have performed exemplary services in any worthwhile field that greatly benefited the country.
