Islamabad:In a ground breaking move, the Federal Government of Pakistan has launched an ambitious programme aimed at digitally training and certifying the country’s 1.8 million teachers, along with millions more who will join the workforce in the next decade. This initiative, led by the National Institute of Excellence in Teacher Education (NIETE), in collaboration with LUMS School of Education, marks a significant milestone in Pakistan’s educational landscape.
The program’s primary objective is to equip teachers with world-class teaching practices and support, ensuring that they are professionally trained and empowered. By doing so, the government aims to elevate the teaching profession to be the most attractive, noble, and prestigious career choice for young people in Pakistan.
Additionally, the initiative seeks to enhance the quality of education for students in both public and private schools, as well as at home. Leveraging the power of technology, the program aims to achieve an exponential increase in learning outcomes by making education fun, seamless, and enjoyable for students.
“This program is a game-changer for Pakistan’s education sector,” stated a government official. “By providing teachers with cutting-edge training and support, and leveraging technology to enhance the learning experience, we are laying the foundation for a brighter future for our students and our nation.”
The program will be available to teachers and students across all provinces, marking a significant step towards ensuring equitable access to quality education nationwide. With its holistic approach to teacher training and student learning, the initiative holds the promise of transforming Pakistan’s educational landscape for generations to come.
