The purpose of this letter is to bring attention to a matter of utmost importance regarding the Government Islamia Degree College, Badin. This esteemed institution has been serving as a beacon of education for our community since it was established. The beautiful college building was in a poor state and was recommended for repair and restoration. The renovation project has been plagued by delays and inefficiencies, despite receiving a hefty budget allocation of 60 million rupees and construction work started in March 2021.
The construction work is still unfinished even though the estimated completion period of 30 months has passed. The college appears to be in ruins, and both teachers and students are experiencing significant hardships, which include the lack of basic facilities such as lavatories as well.
It is obvious that the contractor who is in charge of the renovation is using delaying methods, neglecting their duty to complete the project on time. The future of thousands of students who depend on this institution for their education is in danger due to this unacceptable negligence. I call on the relevant authorities to take immediate action and ensure that the renovation work is completed without any further delay.
