NED varsity presents Rs3.8bn budget

kArachi: The NED University of Engineering & Technology’s financial year 2021-22 had started with a deficit budget of Rs167.695 million, but the finance department is ending the year with a surplus budget of Rs1.118 million, while the budget for the fiscal year 2022-23 is Rs3.798,806 billion.

Presenting the annual performance report in the 30th senate session of the university, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Sarosh Hashmat Lodi said the next year will start with an estimated deficit of Rs211.144 million. He said that attempts will be made to surplus the deficit budget like the previous one.

Sindh Works & Services Minister Syed Zia Abbas Shah, who is also pro-chancellor for the province’s engineering and technology universities, said the NED University is among the top engineering universities around the world. “The Sindh government has always supported universities, and will continue to do so, as is proven by the doubling of education grants. NED’s sub-campus in Thar is performing well, benefiting students from all over the province.”

Shah said the rising standard of the NED University and its graduate engineers is an example for the whole world.
