ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Climate Change Senator Sherry Rehman says it is the judiciary’s responsibility to form a full court bench to clear the questions and ambiguities raised on the court decision concerning the elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“If the full court bench is not formed, more questions will arise on the impartiality of the judiciary and the decision, and the matter will become more confused instead of being resolved,” she said in a series of tweets on Tuesday. Sherry said the government had already demanded a full court bench on the issue.
She said so far, bar councils and legal experts were even not able to agree that the judicial decision on elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was by 3-2 or by 4-3.
“The resolution of this constitutional and electoral dispute lies only in the Full Court Bench,” she said.
She said the two judges who raised questions about the judiciary’s powers were also of a very serious nature.
