KHAR: Saltanat has become the female candidate in the history of Bajaur tribal district for a provincial assembly seat.
Saltanat’s husband, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, submitted nomination papers on her behalf. Mujeeb-ur-Rehman told journalists that women in tribal areas faced numerous challenges, this is why her wife decided to contest the elections for women's rights.
He stated that his wife had decided to participate in the elections with a commitment to create educational, healthcare, employment, and other opportunities for women.
Meanwhile, the process of nomination papers for the 2024 elections has been completed in Bajaur district. A total of 19 candidates have submitted their nomination papers for one national constituency, while 96 candidates are in the run for four provincial constituencies.
