karachi: The District East police on Thursday night engaged in a shootout with robbers near the Aladdin Park, which resulted in the deaths of two suspects and arrest of another in an injured state.
District East police chief SSP Farrukh Raza said the Gulistan-e-Jauhar police confronted the suspects during checking when they tried to stop three men on a 125 motorcycle. The suspects, however, opened fire on the police. As the police returned fire, the three suspects were injured and arrested. A police official, Head Constable Afzal Nisar, also sustained bullet injuries in his leg. The injured suspects were shifted to a hospital, where two of them were pronounced dead.
