ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister’s Health Coordinator Dr Malik Mukhtar Ahmed inaugurated the evening outpatient department (OPD) services at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on Monday.
This initiative aims to address the needs of patients who are unable to seek medical assistance during regular working hours, marking a pivotal step in the federal government’s commitment to providing effective healthcare services to the public, Dr Ahmed said while speaking at the inaugural ceremony.
Accompanied by Federal Health Secretary Iftikhar Ali Shalwani and senior officials, the PM’s health coordinator conducted a comprehensive tour of various departments at the PIMS.
The inauguration of the evening OPD underscores the government’s proactive approach to healthcare delivery and its determination to ensure standardised services for all citizens. Dr Ahmed also evaluated the quality of healthcare services provided by the PIMS, including patient care, infrastructure, medical equipment and staff competence.
