PESHAWAR: Accountability Court Judge Rajab Ali has summoned Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders former federal minister Arbab Alamgir and his wife MNA Asma Alamgir today (Thursday) in a reference pertaining to alleged illegal assets.
The court, upon a request filed by NAB, has scheduled an early hearing for the reference. On Wednesday, the court was informed that the hearing for the reference should be scheduled soon.
The court accepted the request, scheduled the hearing for both accused, and issued notices to them for hearing today (Thursday).
According to NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Arbab Alamgir and Asma Alamgir are accused of accumulating illegal assets worth more than Rs330 million in Peshawar and Islamabad.
The assets include residential bungalows, prize bonds, bank accounts, and plots. After completing the investigation, the NAB filed a reference in the accountability court against the accused for their movable and immovable assets.
