LAHORE: Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has implemented a comprehensive cleaning plan to maintain cleanliness within and around the Gaddafi Stadium for Pakistan and New Zealand T20 cricket matches.
Ahead of the matches, over 200 LWMC workers, along with more than five washers and mini dumpers, have been mobilised in two shifts to supervise and execute the cleaning of the stadium enclosures.
According to Lahore Waste Management Company spokesperson Umar Ch, the cleaning of all stadium enclosures will be completed and top-notch sanitation arrangements will be ensured during the New Zealand series matches to be held in the provincial capital on April 25 and 27, with an additional 70 workers assigned to manage the outer ring of the stadium during the matches.
Lahore Waste Management Company CEO Babar Sahib Din has issued directives for an extensive cleaning operation in and around the stadium and its nearby areas, stressing the importance of utilising all available resources to maintain a clean environment for the people of Lahore.
Cricket fans were urged to refrain from littering during matches and can report cleanliness-related issues by contacting the LWMC helpline at 1139 or through social media channels.
Traffic plan: Traffic police have issued a plan to keep the traffic flowing on alternative routes during the Pak-New Zealand T20 matches here in the provincial metropolis.
Four SPs, 12 DSPs, and 90 Inspectors will perform duties. More than 01,000 wardens will be posted at Gaddafi Stadium, teams' routes and alternative routes. 20 forklifts and five breakers will also be deployed to remove wrong parking.
Three parking stands have been allocated for the convenience of cricket fans and easy access to the stadium. Mall Road, Canal Road, Jail Road, and Main Boulevard Road Gulberg will remain open for traffic. Roads will be closed for a few moments during the movement of the team. All diversions will be opened for traffic as soon as the movement passes.
