LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Sirajul Haq said Thursday that the PTI government had caused a deadly blow to the masses by imposing a mini-budget under orders from the IMF and broken a 74-year old record of inflation and price hike.

In his response to the mini budget, he cited reports of international media saying Pakistan had become the fourth most expensive country in the world under the PTI rule. Instead of tackling the challenges, he said the government was exacerbating the problems of the masses while major opposition parties were fighting for their own interests instead of the problems of the people.

He said the JI was the only party fighting for the problems of the people be it is Karachi or Gwadar its people were sitting on the streets demanding the rights of the people.

He said the interest-free economy was the solution to the problems facing the country. Capitalists and mafias are holding 220 million people hostage, he said, adding the ruling class is completely unaware of the plight of the poor.

The JI ameer said the PTI could not befool the nation by mere slogans of accountability and Madina State. Traders, farmers, laborers, government paymasters, students all want real change in the country, he said, adding only an Islamic system can save a resource-rich nuclear Pakistan.

He said the PTI government had completely flopped, adding it was proved it (PTI) was not serious and capable of dealing with problems. He said the government had handed over the country to the IMF. The tyrannical elites, who have borrowed billions of dollars and sold the greedy nation to the colonial powers, will have to answer for what they have done, he said.

He said the government had itself acknowledged that country had been enslaved to the United States. Pakistan was created not for the slavery of America, but for the implementation of Islam, he said. In 73 years, the Islamic system has not been implemented for a single day, he said, adding dictators and so-called democratic governments had bled the nation's aspirations.

Mr Siraj said the PTI had deceived the people in the name of the state of Madina. The past and present rulers are the cause of all problems, he said. We must work together to end the status quo by adopting a peaceful democratic method, he concluded.
